Mission Statements are like belly buttons: everybody has one.

And, all too often, their original purpose is forgotten or ignored after birth.

But, at Houston’s Center Stage Theater, our Mission remains our life-line to the beliefs and goals that birthed us:

Because Houston’s Center Stage Theater (HCST) believes that our culture makes an indelible impact on the lives of our children, our youth and our families, Houston’s Center Stage Theater exists to make an impact on our culture through affordable, value-positive and excellent education in the Arts, family-centered Arts enrichment programs, and wholesome family entertainment.

We will support our mission by delivering these IMPACTS:

	nnovative Education.
	We will design every program to reach and teach every student in a stimulating, value-positive, creative, fun and personally challenging environment.
	aximizing Family Involvement.
	We will strive to involve whole families in our theatrical productions and our educational programs, so that the “HCST experience” is family-building as well as family-friendly.
	articipation Opportunities.
	We will carefully select high-quality productions and programs suitable for the entire family, and we will endeavor always to involve as many people of every age, race, ethnicity, social and cultural background as possible, so that participation in HCST will be an uplifting, character-enriching experience for the students, casts, crews, and audiences alike.
	chieiving Excellence.
	We will encourage and support personal growth, theatrical excellence and civic pride in our participants, recognize their personal goals and achievements, and strive always to give the children, youth and families in our area a full, positive and creative voice in the Arts.
	ollaboration with Our Community.
	We will continue to partner with theatrical professionals, educational institutions, charitable organizations, churches, and other community and business leaders to develop our resources and to broaden the influence of this organization.

	We will strive to train the total person, not merely to develop and showcase God-given talents, but to reinforce good character, to instill a sense of worth and accomplishment, and to model the values of honesty, integrity, hard work, excellence and personal sacrifice to achieve a common goal. In this way, we will always seek to positively build the characters and strengthen the families of every individual whose life we touch.

	We will seek to provide opportunities and programs to children and families from all walks of life, regardless of financial means, through scholarship programs, community outreach and other activities that identify and nurture every young artist with a “Heart for the Arts”.
